Frank Wedekind is one of the most popular German playwrights – a father of expressionism, a scandalous author, whose plays were often suppresed by the censure. Wedekind writes “The Death and The Devil” against the hipocrisy of the society of that time. And the hipocrisy of today’s society encounters its own face in this perfomance.
How much is the innocence worth? How much is the human’s life worth? The action thickens through avalanching variety of twists and turns and sudden revelations. The public will run into requests for violence and cravings after death.
“The Death and The Devil” is one of the less known plays by Frank Wedekind, written in 1905. Petar Denchev finds the theme extremely current and actual. Thus, the performance, was born.
The Death and The Devil is an elegant story of temptation and accusation in life, just before in ends.
The performance has participated at The Slavija festival, Belgrade, Serbia & Youth’s Fair, Sofia, Bulgaria.
